Certified Agile Service Manager

COURSE OVERVIEW

This 3-day certification course, produced by the DevOps Institute, provides an introduction to the application and integration of agile thinking into IT Service Management (ITSM) processes and process design projects. Agile thinking improves ITSM effectiveness and efficiency while enabling IT to continue to deliver value in a DevOps environment.

This course prepares you for the exam leading to the Certified Agile Service Manager Certificate.


LEARNING OUTCOMES

The course is designed as an introduction to the core topics associated with Agile and ITSM. Specifically, by the end of this course, participants will understand:

  • What it means to “be agile”
  • The Agile Manifesto, its core values and principles
  • Agile concepts and practices relating to ITSM, Kanban, Lean and DevOps
  • Scrum roles, artifacts and events as it applies to both products and processes
  • How to instill agile thinking and values into two aspects of Agile Service Management
    • Agile Process Improvement – ensuring processes are lean and deliver “just enough” control
    • Agile Process Design – applying Agile practices to process design projects
  • Support organizational agility across the DevOps spectrum
  • Create a role that is the operational counterpart to development’s Scrum Master

  • Anyone interested in learning about Agile and Scrum from a products and process perspective
  • Individuals who will serve as the operational equivalent of development’s Scrum Master
  • Process owners and managers seeking to make their process improvement efforts more efficient

  • Consultants guiding their clients through Agile, DevOps and/or ITSM initiatives


PREREQUISITES

There are no mandatory prerequisites, but some familiarity with ITSM processes and ITIL® is recommended.


EXAM, CERTIFICATION & AWARDS

This course prepares participants for the examination leading to the Certified Agile Service Manager Certificate, granted by DevOps Institute.

  • Exam is offered through PEOPLECERT and is 1 hour, closed book
  • The exam consists of 40 multiple choice questions
  • A passing score of 65% is required to achieve certification
  • 16 PDUs are awarded


COURSE E-MATERIALS

Material for this course will only be provided as downloadable soft copy files that can be viewed on a variety of devices. Attendees may print a hard copy of the files in whatever format best meets their needs, and can use the files under the Pink Elephant Terms of Use.

Virtual courses are presented in two different agenda formats including full day programs from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm ET each day of the course or half day course delivery programs with the student selecting to attend an AM (8:30 am – 12:00 pm ET) or PM (1:30 pm – 5:00 pm ET) course for the duration of the class. When you register for the course you will receive more detailed information.
