Everything that APMG and the training providers do to promote the “new” ITIL certification scheme (“new”? it’s almost 2 years old!) is geared around steering the individual towards becoming an ”ITIL Expert”. This is providing value to the individual by increasing his/her qualifications and marketability, but what’s the value to the organization? Exactly how is an organization better off if its staff are amongst the most qualified in the industry and are prime targets to be head-hunted away?
